Today I felt like making brownies, but we never have chocolate lying around at our place. Why would we? So I tried googling for a brownie recipe that only used (dark) cocoa powder instead of chocolate and this is what I found!

I think the main reason why I don’t think of brownies as one of my favorites, is because it’s very easy to make brownies waaaay too sweet. In the Faroe Islands we don’t have unsweetned cooking chocolate, so we use normal or baking chocolate (that’s sweetned), which results in proper diabetus overload sweetness. Buuuuut! Using dark cocoa powder… Hon, hon, hon! C’est trés magnifique, mon petit cherié! (Don’t copy my French, I have no idea what I’m saying)

I used walnuts in mine, but I think anything will work just fine. I even think they would be awesome being just plain. They’re moist, rich, dark and here’s the recipe:

The thing that I love about the Faroese language is the way we say “I love you”. “Okur eiga Smyrol”, means literally “I adore you”, which is very cute. which is . Say that to the next Faroese person you see, see how they react.
